Let Them Go
“These enemies were in our group, but they left us. They did not really belong with us. If they were really part of our group, they would have stayed with us. But they left. This shows that none of them really belonged with us.” 1 John 2:19
When people leave, you’ve got to let them go and stop trying to bring them back! Sometimes God is separating certain people from us for our own good, but in our ignorance we try to hold on to them; we even plead with them to stay!
If Abraham could let his own nephew go; someone he trained and helped; then there’s no one that you cannot do without. And guess what: God was waiting for Lot to leave so that He could give Abraham greater blessings. Genesis 13:14-15 says, “After Lot left, the Lord said to Abram, ‘Look around you. Look north, south, east, west. All this land that you see I will give to you and your people who live after you. This will be your land forever.” If Lot didn’t go Abraham may not have had room for more. Until some people leave, your blessing will be delayed. You thought that they were too important not knowing that they were obstacles to your promotion!
Let them go; let them say that they don’t need you anymore; let them even decide not to support you anymore! Don’t ever think that you lost anything: you never needed them; you have God, and He’s all that matters!
