Sin is both a nature and an act

A sinner is defined as one born in sin and one who sins (1 Corinthians 5:11

Sin is the identity of children of the devil (1 John 3:6-10)

Sin leads to death (Romans 6:23, James 1:15, Romans 8:6)

Sin defiles us (Hebrews 12:15, 2 Peter 3:14, 1 Timothy 5:22)

Sin causes suffering (1 Peter 4:15)

Sin brings disgrace (1 Timothy 5:20)

Sin steals your joy (2 Corinthians 7:9)

Sin is deceitful (Hebrews 3:13)

Sinful living affects the faith of weak brethren (Romans 14:13, 1 Corinthians 8:2)

Sinful living affects our fellowship with God (1 John 1:5-6, 2 Corinthians 6:17-18)

Sinful living grieves and quenches the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19)

Sin gives the devil a foothold in our lives/ permission into our lives (Ephesians 4:27, 2 Corinthians 2:11)

Sin will not make us see God and inherit the kingdom of God (Hebrews 12:14, Ephesians 5:5, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

Sins affects our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18)

Sin dishonours God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Sinful living is capable of making us “fail of the grace of God” (Hebrews 12:15)

Sin can result in deliverance to Satan (1 Corinthians 5:5)

Sin affects the Church (1 Corinthians 5:6)

Sin affects our fellowship with other believers (1 Corinthians 5:2, 11, 13)

Sinful living is capable of hardening us (Hebrews 3:13)

Sin makes, and will make people suffer the wrath of God (Ephesians 5:6, Romans 1:18)

Yielding to sin returns us to slavery (2 Peter 2:19, Romans 6:16)
