SIN AND THE BELIEVER (KNOW THE TRUTH)

Study the Scriptures for yourself

1) SIN AND THE BELIEVER (KNOW THE TRUTH)

We were born in sin/ as sinners (Romans 3:23, Psalm 51:5)

When we believed, our sins were forgiven and removed from us (Romans 4:7, Acts 13:38, 26:18)

We were delivered from sin and empowered to live righteously (Romans 6:7, 18, 22)

Jesus turned us away from sin when we believed (Acts 3:26). Meaning that we should no longer sin

Sin no longer has dominion over us (Romans 6:14)

A Christian should not sin (1 John 2:1)

A Christian can sin and enslave himself again to sin through obedience and yielding (Romans 6:13, 16)

A Christian can have a besetting sin (Hebrews 12:1). But he must lay it aside

A Christian can become hardened by sin (Hebrews 3:13)

Sin is possible because we have our will and flesh (Romans 6:13)

It is our duty not to sin. It’s something we must choose not to do. We are to flee from sin (Romans 6:12)

Deal with sin by controlling your desires. Sin begins with lust (James 1:13-15)

Overcome sin by walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-25, Romans 8:1-14)

When we sin, we are to repent, confess them, ask for mercy, and receive grace not to continue in sin (1 John 1:9, James 5:16, Hebrews 4:15-16, 2 Corinthians 7:10)
