The Presence of the Lord

God’s presence is everywhere, but it’s ignorance to think that that’s all that there is to it. If that’s all about the presence, the Bible would not have said that Cain went out from the presence of the Lord (Genesis 4:16), and Moses would not have prayed for the presence of God to go with them (Exodus 33:14).
In the New Testament, we have the Holy Spirit with us. So His presence is with us. But still, that doesn’t mean that that’s all about His presence! In Acts 4, the Bible says that when the believers prayed, the place where they were assembled shook, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit: an experience similar to what happened in Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit descended. What happened in Acts 4? The presence of the Lord filled the hall! Judges 5:5 reveals that mountains quake in the presence of the Lord!
As children of God, we can always enjoy the presence of God through prayer. Ephesians 3:12 says that, “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.” Hebrews 4:16 says we should come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “How we thank God for you! Because of you we have great joy as we enter God’s presence.” 1 Thessalonians 3:9.
In His presence there’s liberty and fullness of joy (2 Corinthians 3:18 and Psalm 16:11)! There’s mercy and grace in His presence too: and in His presence, we are continually changed and transformed and glorified – we become more and more like Him as we have communion with Him in His presence!
