One With God
“So when I realized you weren’t coming, I risked my life and went to battle without you, and the Lord gave me victory over the Ammonites. So why have you now come to fight me?” Judges 12:3 NLT
Jonathan, son of king Saul, is one guy that we have not celebrated as we should. We remember him as a friend of David, but he was a man of great faith who did exploits.
One time, Israel was at war with the Philistines; king Saul and his men were in camp, guess what Jonathan did: he left the camp secretly with his armour bearer to go and fight the Philistines alone! He said to his armour bearer, “Let’s go across to the outpost of those pagans, perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!” Wow, that’s great faith!
Here’s what Jonathan knew; that one with God is majority. It’s good to have partners and a team, but you must learn to look beyond human help sometimes. Human help is limited. There will be times when those around you will be unwilling to work with you because they don’t see what you see or share your passion. Don’t give up; team up with God. He’s got the strength; He’s got the wisdom; He’s got the resources; He’s got everything you need!
