The Journeys To Poverty And Wealth
“Do not carouse with drunkards or feast with gluttons, for they are on their way to poverty, and too much sleep clothes them in rags.” Proverbs 23:20-21 NLT
Nobody becomes either rich or poor overnight; except through inheritance, lottery, theft, corruption, kidnapping and the likes: for the “normal” man or woman, becoming poor or becoming rich is a journey.
You can argue that some were born rich, and that some others were born poor. True: but there are poor people who refused to remain poor and journeyed to prosperity, and there are those who were rich, who did not remain rich; they journeyed backwards to poverty.
Brothers and sisters, we can talk about grace all day, but it’s basically about our habits. The journey to wealth or poverty depends on our habits. Our habits are the vehicles that take us to either of the destinations.
There are people who make money, but never keep money. They spend, they go for things they haven’t qualified for, they waste; they don’t save, neither do they invest. Let them read about the Prodigal Son and know their fate.
A final word: Proverbs 13:11: “Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.” It’s not late, you can start your own journey today. You will prosper in Jesus name.
