“They worked craftily, and went and pretended to be ambassadors. And they took old sacks on their donkeys, old wineskins torn and mended.” Joshua 9:4 NKJV
There are pretenders in life; people who are with you but not for you; people who act as friends but are really enemies; people who act as if they care but what they want is information; you think they are followers but they are actually spies: they are not who they say that they are, and they might be working against you.
The inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua and the Israelites had done to Jericho and Ai; they feared that they could experience similar fate, so they pretended to be men from a far country; their plan worked; Joshua and the leaders of Israel were deceived, and they entered into an agreement with the Gibeonites.
You will not be deceived in Jesus name! You will not fall into the traps of wicked and evil men in Jesus name! God will open your eyes to know who is who, in Jesus name! You will not be deceived into marrying the wrong person in Jesus name! No pretender will rob you of your blessings in Jesus name! Amen!
