“But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, ‘Why do you think evil in your hearts?” Matthew 9:4 NKJV
A time comes when you have to ask yourself real and truthful questions like, Why do I tell lies? Why do I cheat? Why do I look down on others? Why do I commit sexual sins? Why do I think evil and ungodly thoughts? Why am I always worried and sad? Why am I being negative and pessimistic? Why do I hate? Why do I spend frivolously? Why am I reckless? Etc.
You must have at least one reason for the things you do. So is it worth it? Is the reason bigger or greater than the consequences? Hey! Don’t start acting holy and righteous and perfect; and don’t say that this kind of message is not for you. Let me add: Why do you use wrong dates of birth? Why are you inactive in church? Why do you tell lies about your location and what you are doing in telephone conversations? Why do you delete chats from your phone? Why do you lock your phones? What exactly are you hiding? Why do you have to tell lies in order to get money?
I can go on and on. The essence of this is not to judge us but for us to think about the things we do. Are they necessary? Do they glorify God? Are we willing to suffer the consequences?
Father, I choose from today to think only thoughts that are acceptable to You. Let my life, my actions and words be pleasing to You.
