“If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.” I Timothy 4:6 NKJV
Nourishment refers to the food necessary for growth, health, and good condition. Jesus said that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. God’s word, therefore, is the nourishment for our spirits.
1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” First, you’ve got to know your true position; are you still a babe? Take milk. An adult? You need strong meat. Second, you’ve got to have a desire for nourishment. You’ve got to love the word of God the way some people love food. Spend time studying and meditating on the Scriptures.
Finally, ensure that you are nourishing yourself with good doctrines. This is very very important. There are some literatures you should not read; they are some people you should not listen to; and there are some centres you should not visit. Prioritize your spiritual well-being highly.
