Holding The Sword Of The Spirit
“They all hold swords, being expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh because of fear in the night.” Song of Solomon 3:8 NKJV
Ephesians 6:11-13 says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
And one of the armour we’re told to take is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
You’re not an expert in war until you hold your sword and know how to use it. And you know, when you go to war as an inexperienced and naive soldier, the chances of you returning alive are slim. No wonder a lot of Christians are perishing; for lack of knowledge; they are soldiers without their swords. Brothers and sisters, get to know the word of God, and be a consistent confessor of it. Speak it in the morning, afternoon and night; let the word of Christ dwell richly in you!
