“Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, when the Lord has not commanded it?” Lamentations 3:37 NKJV
Sennacherib king of Assyria encamped against the cities of Judah, thinking to win them over to himself. He sent his servants to Hezekiah and to all who were in Jerusalem, saying, “Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand? Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you, and do not believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?” When Hezekiah and Isaiah heard those words, they prayed and cried out to heaven. Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valour in the camp of Sennacherib. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he went into the temple of his god, his own sons killed him with the sword.
The Bible says, “Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, when the Lord has not commanded it?” You may have received unpleasant reports, decisions may have even been taken against you, pronouncements may have been made; maybe you have even been threatened in the place of your business, at school, or at home; don’t be afraid! Nothing they have said will come to pass; any report contrary to the report of the Lord concerning your life and your future is hereby annulled, in the name of Jesus!
