You’re Either In Or You’re Out
James 4.4 “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
The closer we get to the end of the world, the clearer it would be who a person really is. There would be no sitting on the fence; you would be forced to declare your beliefs, because the true Christians will be persecuted. What’s happening in the world today is a prelude to what is to come, and we must be prepared. The true church will be hated because of our refusal to compromise.
But even now, every day, every second, by the decisions we make, by our beliefs, associations and actions we are being separated. On one hand are the friends of God, on the other are the friends of the world. You can’t be both! 1 John 2.15-17 says, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
Romans 12.2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” The world is changing its definitions of good and bad, right and wrong; the truth is being twisted even by people who claim to be ministers of the gospel, even the Bible is being reinterpreted and used to justify sin. A lot of us have conformed to the world when we should have renewed our minds. As Jesus prophesied, the love of many of us is growing cold! Brothers and sisters, let’s endure to the end, because it’s only those who endure to the end, who remain steadfast and unmovable, that would be saved. His grace is sufficient for us.
