EVERY RULE MATTERS
2 Timothy 2:5 ERV “Athletes in a race must obey all the rules to win.”
The world record for men’s 100m sprint is 9.58 seconds set by Usain Bolt in 2010. Now, if Usain Bolt runs a 100m sprint today in 9.55 seconds and breaks the rules in the process, he would be disqualified. Rules are to be obeyed and not ignored.
God wants us to do all His word. Effort and speed will amount to nothing if we’re not doing all the will of God. It’s important therefore that we acquaint ourselves with God’s will for our lives and live accordingly.
Every rule matters. For instance, don’t spend hours praying, expecting answers if you are nursing a grudge in your heart; you’re not going to win! God’s rules are easy enough to be obeyed. And He also gave us the Holy Spirit to help us to do His will. We are therefore inexcusable. His grace is sufficient for us.
