DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL
II Peter 2:7-9 NKJV “And delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,”
Jesus taught us to pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Matthew 6:13. The world today is characterized by lawlessness; men are now demanding liberty to walk in their own evil and sinful ways; living however they please, against the will of God.
Christians today, more than ever before, are confronted with more temptations and evil. Virtually through every medium we are bombarded with evil, the righteous souls of men are being tormented day by day by the things we see and hear, and sadly, just as Jesus prophesied, because iniquity abounds, the love of many is waxing cold.
But thank God! His grace is sufficient for us. Hallelujah! He can and will always give us the victory over temptations and deliver us from evil. Amen.
To do: Ask God for the grace to live for Him, the grace not to be overcome by evil but to live righteously for Him for as long as we are here in this world.
